The “old Digitalarkivet” is now closed.
The pages in the old Digital archives (GDA) is as of today June 14th closed.
This is reported in a blog post published today from the Digital Archives.
The new solution at the Digital Archives has been in place since 2011 and since then the old databases have not been updated. The reason for the sudden closure of the old pages is the discovery of a security issue.
Fortunately, most of the information that was hosted on the old servers, is available on the new Digital Archives. It seems like all the information that is most interesting to us genealogists has been moved to the new servers.
Some digitized books that were hosted on the old servers are no longer available. The Digital Archives are considering to move these to the new servers.
The Digital Archives has seen a steady increase in the use of the new solution while the old solution has had a dwindling number of hits.
I know that there are some who still used the old solution. If you are now forced to start using the new solution, please comment below and I will try to address the problems you might have.

Martin, for the life of me, I cannot find the transcribed records, can you help or are they not there? Like the Emigrant databases.

The Emigrant databases are there. I suggest you use the “Find source” feature. In the “Form” tab you choose “Searchable” and in the “Category” tab you choose “Emigration records”. This will give you the searchable databases. You can also use the “Advanced person search” and enter the name of the person you search for, in the “Category” tab filter it to “Emigration records”. The you go up on the right side of the page under “Event information” and type in Event year “from/to”.
By using the “Advanced person search” and not putting in a filter in the category tab, you search through all the databases for the person you are looking for.
