Friday finds

Friday finds: Week 3 – 2019

I am back with my column Friday finds where I share some of the websites I have visited this week

Diana Elder and Nicole Dyer in the Family Locket blog presents a new podcast in their series “Research like a pro” this time they talk about  Personal Genealogy software

In his blog Family tree maker user, Russ Worthington talks about the three concepts Evidence Explained, Genealogical Proof Standard and Mastering Genealogical Proof. He links this to the genealogy software Family Tree make, but his main message is relevant for us all Genealogy Do-Over – MGP, EE, GPS (what’s he talking about ?)

Will Moneymaker in Ancestral Findings shares his thoughts about How to Be the Best Family Archivist in Five Easy Steps

Criminal Genealogy is a blog hosted by Gwen Kubberness. Read her article about Jan Horoszko who ended up in jail due to a false affidavit Jan Horoszko: Naturalization Law, False Affidavit

Marla Andrews was 2 years old when her father died serving his country. Read this article from the CBS Evening News Daughter of Tuskegee Airman gets answers about his death, 70 years later

Having spent quite a lot of time lately helping others with their genealogy search, I have come across a lot of family trees online with no source citations. On the Family tree magazine website, we find this article and video by Diane Haddad Genealogy Q&A: 3 Steps to Source Citations

On the MyHeritage blog I find this article by Tayla Sisters Reunited Through DNA

Here are some other blogs that present links under the “finds” meme:
