However, we may \u00a0come across a Gothic h. In this name; &#8220;Christopher&#8221;, the first h is Latin while the second is Gothic. Sometimes the Gothic\u00a0<strong>s\u00a0<\/strong>is used as a single s, other times it is used as a double s. In this case the Gotic s is used in combination with a Latin s.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:1px;border-color:#228ef9\"><\/div>\n<h6>The letter &#8220;f&#8221;<\/h6>\n<p>I am not providing any examples of word written with the letter <strong>f<\/strong>\u00a0as the Gothic and the Latin letters looks the same. As we are so used to this letter, I often identify the letter as an <strong>f<\/strong>\u00a0before I start to look closer at the word and realise that it might be a <strong>s<\/strong> or a\u00a0<strong>h<\/strong>. We should also note that in older records the letter\u00a0<strong>f<\/strong> sometimes are expressed by the combination <strong>ph<\/strong> like we saw in the name\u00a0<strong>Christopher<\/strong> above.
