data-section-id=\"1ptqxcv\" data-start=\"7778\" data-end=\"7811\">half-remembered family stories,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"puzbs2\" data-start=\"7812\" data-end=\"7867\">and unanswered questions stretching across centuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"7869\" data-end=\"7907\">Mind maps externalize that complexity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7909\" data-end=\"8035\">They allow the researcher to stop juggling information mentally and instead focus on interpretation, intuition, and discovery.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8037\" data-end=\"8105\">And perhaps that is why they feel so natural in family history work.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8107\" data-end=\"8260\">Because when you step back and look at a completed map \u2014 all those lines radiating outward from a single name \u2014 it begins to resemble something familiar.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8262\" data-end=\"8287\">Not just a research tool.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8289\" data-end=\"8328\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">But a
