I will be trying out AI creation
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in writing articles can be justified on several practical, ethical, and creative grounds.
Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been on a hiatus from blogging for a while. There are various reasons for this. Some are health-related. Also, as age progresses, work takes a heavier toll. My focus has been drawn in new directions as Inger Lise and I became grandparents last November. Twins Safina Cora and Cayde Roe (no, not typical Norwegian names 🙂 ) arrived, bringing a lot of happiness and joy.
Running this blog, and most of all through it, getting to communicate with a lot of great people, gives me a lot of fun and meaning. As a one-man band, I’m exploring various ways to bring you interesting and relevant content. In this process, I am testing AI (artificial intelligence). I have spent some time thinking through whether and how I can justify using this tool.
Productivity
In an age where information moves faster than ever, AI tools provide me with powerful support to enhance productivity and accuracy. One of my main justifications for using AI is efficiency. AI-powered systems can process large amounts of data in seconds, summarize key points, and generate structured drafts, allowing me to focus more on refining ideas and ensuring quality rather than spending excessive time on routine research or formatting tasks.

Accuracy and consistency
Another justification lies in improving accuracy and consistency. As English is not my native language, AI models can help me detect grammatical errors, factual inconsistencies, and biased language, which strengthens the reliability of my content. Ultimately, AI tools help me improve my command of the English language. AI tools also serve as a secondary editor, cross-referencing data from multiple sources to minimize errors.
Augmenting imagination
From a creative perspective, AI is not replacing my imagination but augmenting it. By generating ideas, outlines, or stylistic variations, AI can serve as a brainstorming partner for me that stimulates innovation. I can experiment with different tones or perspectives, using AI as a collaborative tool rather than a substitute. I believe that as long as I remain transparent about the extent of AI involvement and maintain editorial control, the integration of AI aligns with responsible authorship. Every article on this blog will still be derived from an idea of mine and It will not be published before I am confident that the content is accurate and relevant to you.
Ultimately, my justification for using AI in article writing rests on its ability to enhance my capability and capacity. As I still work full-time as a psychiatric nurse, AI helps me to balance work with creativity, ensuring that I am able to create content that is useful to you.

Martin, it appears you have given some deep thought to, and are approaching the use of, AI to augment your already excellent and helpful articles. Given that, I will set aside my “fears” of AI and look forward to the content of you blog. Thanks for the past articles. Congratulations to your family on the additional branches to the family tree! Enjoy Grandparenting!!!
Thanks for your feedback and kind words Thomas!
Martin, I too am wary of AI, but I have seen the benefits of it when searching for information about a topic. You have made an excellent case for using it to enhance your work. And may I add, your English is superb! If AI can help with some of the “heavy lifting” in your daily responsibilities and routine tasks, giving you more time to curate your own thoughts, so be it. Thank you for opening the world of Norway to those of us whose ancestors emigrated away so long ago. And a hearty Congratulations to you, Grandpa Martin!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for your kind words Ann.
Nothing to be afraid of – I’m having a ball with A.I.! I think I have over 160 articles that I have raised with A.I. but still have to double-check some of the info. BTW, have finally been able to Buy You a Coffee! My new credit card worked! Hooray! A small acknowledgement of your great help. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Viv. It’s especially valuable coming from a fellow blogger. Also, thanks for buying me a coffee. I am doing this because it is fun. I have no intention of making a profit from my blog, but it is nice to receive some support to help cover the costs of running it.
Hi cousin! I am curious about AI but dread learning one more software or app piece. I will enjoy reading how your progress goes with this.
